How to Remove and Reset Google Authenticator (2FA)?

Google Authenticator code (2FA) is available,

Google Authenticator (2FA) cannot be changed directly. You can remove the old Google Authenticator then set a new one. For linking Google Authenticator to your account, please follow these steps in How to Link Google Authenticator (2FA).

To enhance the security of your account and assets, we strongly recommend linking Google Authenticator to your account.

Note: To protect your funds, the withdrawal function will be suspended for 24 hours after resetting verification methods.


How to Remove GA on Web

1. Log in to your BlockFin account, click on your user avatar in the upper right corner and select [Account & Security].

2. Select Google Authenticator (GA) section, click [Remove].

3. A pop-up window will appear and remind that the withdrawal function will be suspended for 24 hours after resetting the security items., click [Continue] to proceed to Remove Google Authenticator. 
 
 
4. Verify your email code, SMS code, and Google Authenticator code. Click [Submit] to successfully remove Google Authenticator.

 

How to Remove GA on App

1. Log in to your BlockFin account and tap on the BlockFin logo in the top left corner.

2. Select [Account & Security].

3. Go to Google Authenticaor (GA) session and click [→]. A pop-up window will appear, click [Confirm] to proceed to Google Authentication.

4. Verify your email code/SMS code, and Google Authenticator code. Click [Submit] to successfully remove Google Authenticator.

 

Google Authenticator code (2FA) is unavailable

If your account is bound to [phone number + Email + Google Authenticator] simultaneously and one of these options cannot be verified, you can visit https://blockfin.com/reset-security and remove the unavailable security item by verifying the other two security items.

If your account is bound to [phone number/Email + Google Authenticator] simultaneously, follow the steps below to reset Google Authenticator:

Note: To protect your funds, the withdrawal function will be suspended for 48 hours after resetting verification methods.

How to remove GA on Web

1. Click here to reset Google Authenticator (2FA): https://blockfin.com/reset-security. Alternatively, click [Unable to verify] to initiate the reset process.

Before accessing the reset security page, please ensure you have your registered email/phone number and login password handy. If you forget your login password, you won't be able to access the reset security page.
 

2. On the Reset Security Verification page, select your issue and click [Start Reset].

 

3. Follow the detailed instructions and requirements to prepare and upload a video.

To ensure your request is proceeded smoothly, please follow the guide below to create a qualified video:

  • Show your face clearly; hold the front of your ID Card/Passport/Driving License (choose one) and a piece of handwritten paper (write down your UID, today's Date and your request on the paper).
  • Provide withdrawal records from the withdrawal platform/wallet deposited into BlockFin. (Go to your withdrawal platform/wallet and show the corresponding withdrawal details with withdrawal address, Txid, token quantity and time.)

  • The file must be less than or equal to 20MB
  • Do not edit the video

4. Entering your new email or phone number and complete the verification by filling in email code and SMS code. Then click [Submit]. Your request to remove Google Authenticator will be submitted to the system.

 
5. Please kindly note that your request will be reviewed within 24 hours, and the result will be sent to you via email. Please pay attention to your email for updates.
 

How to remove GA on App

1. Tap [Security verification unavailable] to access the Reset Security Verification interface.

2. On the Reset Security Verification page, select your issue and click [Submit].

3. Follow the detailed instructions and requirements to prepare and upload a video.
